Lost Forest is hosting the kingdom newbie event in October. Anybody planning on attending? I figured to offer a class and demo highlighting the availability of Arabic persona play via drumming--and it wouldn't be complete without dancers!

Fri, August 18, 2006 - 6:24 PMWarrensburg, MO.
The date is October 28th. The instructional schedule appears wide open. I just signed on to do a drumming class in the afternoon. I'd like to also round up a bit of a dance demo, if possible.

Re: SCA dancers: anyone up for the newbie event?
Sat, August 19, 2006 - 9:15 PMYou ladies are most welcome to show up and dance! The idea is to infect some newbies with the dance fever, and I figure a handful of dancers will draw some attention and do just that. I'll sign up for another block of time in the afternoon for a dance demo/class and we can work out the details later. -

Re: SCA dancers: anyone up for the newbie event?
Sat, August 19, 2006 - 9:46 PMI'd kinda penciled this event in anyway......so sounds like I'd have something to do besides sit around and look heraldic.
That's cool!
So dress as a drummer or dress as a dancer. (No.....no dance bras for me.)

Re: SCA dancers: anyone up for the newbie event?
Sat, September 9, 2006 - 1:34 PMOK, to update things:
I have the ME hand drumming class at 10 am.
The dance class is at 11 am (under my name: Ainmere au Glass) and we have an hour scheduled (though we may have longer in the space). I'll be playing and will likely have a bit of help. I figure you ladies can figure out how much show & tell and how much instruction to do--you've done more of that than I have.
Let me know what you want to do. I'll bring the boom box if you want to dance to one of your favorite songs. We'll work on your favorite rhythm if you want just live drumming; I doubt we'll have a full tahkt there, though I can dream.

Re: SCA dancers: anyone up for the newbie event?
Tue, October 17, 2006 - 8:40 AMAt this point I'm planning on going but I will probable be driving myself as I don't know if I will be staying for the evening festivities. I want to go to a howloween party that night. I am willing to teach the dance part if noone else is interested in doing it or maybe I can co teach it with anyone else who wants to. I've also asked to teach a class in the afternoon on researching ME dance and moves likely used in period. Plus I want to go check out the Museum and all the goodies they have over there. Talk to everyone soon.
