I wear a 33 L. Basically you take your low waist measurment, like what you'd wear with Levi's and L is long and M med and is for Short. I think. If you go to Ebay they should tell you how the measurments work. Also the Phoenix Rising pants tend to run smaller. I bought a pair of both at Tribal Fest and the PR were a little smaller. I think you want them a little long for Shrinkage when you wash them. Also the gal that runs the ebay store also moderates the Melodia tribe site and she could probable answer your questions. I have long legs (32 inch inseam) so I usually always buy tall or long on anything.
