Re: Teaching Belly Dance
Wed, January 18, 2006 - 10:43 AMI have my regular business cards. I actually want to keep it small. I only have time for one night a week and 2 classes. As many times as I've had people ask me if I teach I thought I'd give the people on our tribe the first chance to fill the spots. Otherwise it's in the universes hands. It's been pretty good to me so far about pushing me in a positive direction. So next time I see you I'll try to give you some cards.
And yes I always refer people to Jemira and Masani when they ask about teachers in Lawrence. Just as I always refer them to my own teacher Siham right here in K.C. but she has so many students depending on what night it is it can get crowded.
Like I tell everyone interested in dance you should take from as many teachers as you can. The sign of a good teacher is one that encourages you to learn from others when ever the oppurtunity arises. -

Re: Teaching Belly Dance
Wed, January 18, 2006 - 12:49 PMYou go girl! Yeah, I have a continuously growing list of those requesting classes. BIG SIGH! I may be ready to teach again. Maybe more like in 4 week series blocks/concentrations.
But after six years, I needed the break!

It'll be great to have someone other than Siham to send people too. She's always so crowded. Congrats!

Re: Teaching Belly Dance
Thu, January 19, 2006 - 9:19 PMAlright, Emera. Just hog all the teachers! hey, is there anyone teaching classes (with spots open) on a sat or sun? cause I will be working 2:30 to 11pm Mon - Fri, at my new job. I thought I would ask. I have arranged my life and gotten things in order, so now I can concentrate on my drumming and dancing and pick up where I left off and now I can stop this run on sentence....
:D

Re: Teaching Belly Dance
Sat, January 21, 2006 - 1:19 PMI'm glad to hear you're teaching, Layla. How is it going so far? I had a new group of students start last Thursday. It's been several months since I've had one of the big beginner classes, and I'd forgotten how much fun it was to hear the laughter and the smiles break across their faces when they started belly dancing for the first time.
