I'd like to spend some time working on dancing to common drum rhythms and some basic zill work. For those of you that have zills, bring them. I plan on calling Betsy to see if she had any extra pairs (I know she's selling them I just don't know if she left any behind). If anyone wants to get some, be sure to get the double slot variety. For the later classes, the emphasis will be on the dancing to drum rhythm part with just a little bit on zills. For the 7:00 class it will be more combined. Also if you guys want, check out shira.net for an extensive tutorial on zilling. .

Re: Feb 18th Class
Thu, February 15, 2007 - 9:06 AMI have two or three pair in stock. They're 2.75", larger than most that I've seen dancers use; I got them to have available for serious drummers who want to broaden their skill set with ME percussion. -

Re: Feb 18th Class
Thu, February 15, 2007 - 10:30 AMThanks Larry, but I believe the large zills would be really hard for beginners to use. It takes a while to develop the hand strength necessary to use these bad boys, even the small ones can be tiring. However, if anyone is interested, they can certainly contact you. -

Re: Feb 18th Class
Thu, February 15, 2007 - 2:01 PMWell, yeah. I still get tired rather quickly when playing with them and that sort of finger work is a major component of playing with hands and sticks. That's why I pointed out they were big. I'll be getting some smaller pairs in next month, I think, and will have more variety in selection then...not that it helps right now!
